DumpsterPrices

Dumpster rental prices by city, with the fees spelled out

Lots of dumpster quotes leave out the parts that cost you later: how many tons are included, what each extra ton costs, and what you pay per extra day. Brokers often quote one low number and the local hauler adds the rest.

This site lists the prices local haulers publish themselves, with a link to each source. If a company doesn't publish a price, we say "call for quote". We don't make up numbers.

Before you book, read our checklist of questions to ask before renting a dumpster.

Common questions

What does a dumpster rental usually include?

Most haulers quote a flat price that includes a set number of tons and rental days. Weight over the limit and extra days are billed separately, so compare the included tons, overage per ton and extra-day fee, not just the headline price.

Why was my dumpster bill higher than the quote?

The most common reasons are weight overage charges, extra rental days, prohibited items such as tires or mattresses, and trip or relocation fees. Ask for all of these in writing before you book.

Do I need a permit to put a dumpster on the street?

Often yes. Many cities require a permit for a dumpster on a public street or sidewalk; a dumpster in your own driveway usually does not need one. Check the city page for local rules.
